2020/09/30 - With the Service Apps of the network operators, customers have their data firmly in sight. But what about functionality and security? The operators in Germany, Austria and Switzerland have done their homework: While there were still some critical results in data security in our joint test with connect in 2019, this year all Service Apps scored good or very good in terms of security. The categories tested were Data Protection, Traffic Protection, Impersonation Attacks and Secure Code Practices.
In the functionality category, the Service Apps showed no flaws - five of the eight apps tested received the rating "outstanding". Most of the apps also scored well in the service category, although this is where the most differences were found. All in all, however, the result is more than pleasing. In the final result, all service apps received a "very good".
Hakan Ekmen, CEO Telecommunication at umlaut: "I am very happy that we can certify a very high security level for most of the service apps. The operators have proven in this year's test that security is a high priority for them. Our test results contribute to making the service apps even more secure for their users".
