Car Connectivity Benchmark in the compact class

Cooperation project ADAC/Connect with support of umlaut. Together eleven compact class vehicles were tested in the field of connectivity.

2020/07/03 - Networking in cars has developed rapidly recently. However, car manufacturers are also under pressure here - after all, drivers are already familiar with many gadgets in their home environment that have voice control with Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri or Google Assistant. And it's hard to imagine everyday life without the smartphone with all its advantages. That's why car buyers today have completely new expectations of modern infotainment systems in the vehicle. In cooperation with connect and ADAC, we have tested eleven vehicles for infotainment, navigation, connectivity and user experience

The tests show clear differences between the various vehicles. The test winner is BMW with the M135i xDrive, which is particularly convincing in the areas of infotainment and user experience. In second place is the Mercedes A 250 e, followed by the third-placed Audi Q3 Sportback. All three vehicles were able to achieve the overall grade "good", the other vehicles followed, in some cases at a considerable distance.".

Hakan Ekmen, CEO Telecommunication at umlaut, comments on the results: ' We have launched the de-facto standard for connectivity benchmarking. The results of our tests show differences between the different car manufacturers, but also a clear development potential'.
