We have tested the mobile networks in South Korea with regards to 5G mobile network performance.
Smartphone data performance was measured based on extensive drivetests from 03.08.2022 - 16.08.2022.

  • The user-perceived download speed rate reaches from nearly 0,8 Gbit/s up to 1,2 Gbit/s for at least 10% of the samples in both cities. LG U+ has the highest average download speed in Seoul. In Busan SKT provides the fastest average download speed.

  • SKT achieves the highest data score in Busan.

  • The overall network performance in Seoul is outstanding for all operators, in Busan as well for LG U+ and KT.

  • LG U+ has the highest voice performance in Seoul, providing the shortest Call Setup Time and a very good speech quality.

  • The 5G network shows a high availability of more than 99% fo all networks. LG U+ provides the highest 5G Availability in Seoul, nearly on par with KT.
